The BISEC-2024 conference focused on contemporary security challenges and innovative approaches for addressing them in rapidly evolving technological and organizational contexts. Participants had the opportunity to engage with cutting-edge research and practical insights in areas such as wireless sensor networks (WSNs), Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs), and lightweight blockchain technologies.
 
In addition to technical presentations, the conference fostered vibrant discussions among researchers, industry professionals, and academics, exploring how emerging technologies are reshaping the landscape of digital and physical security. Specific attention was given to the development of secure systems for smart cities, as well as to strategies for mitigating foreseeable risks in these complex environments.
 
The event was officially opened by the President of Belgrade Metropolitan University, Prof. Dr. Dragan Domazet, who emphasized the importance of new methodologies and standards in data protection, particularly in light of disruptive technologies such as Web3, blockchain, and IoT devices.
Experts from public institutions, academia, and the private sector shared their latest solutions, tools, and frameworks that contribute to building safer digital ecosystems. The conference proceedings includes 22 full papers.
